The Cooper Dental Team is thrilled to be back to care for our patients. For everyone’s protection we now operate with additional health care guidelines dictated by Alberta Health Services. We will be wearing masks all the time and will have amended uniforms and PPE. While our attention to detail and care remains the same, we have implemented the recommended screening protocols to keep you and our team safe.

We will be asking you a series of questions when we are scheduling or confirming your appointment and again upon your arrival to our clinic. Please note that we must speak to you directly to review these questions prior to confirming your appointment. They are listed here for your review.

  • Are you aware of having a fever 38 degrees or greater?
  • Do you have a cough or worsening chronic cough?
  • Are you experiencing any new or worsening shortness of breath?
  • Do you have difficulty breathing?
  • Do you have a sore throat?
  • Are you aware of coming into contact with someone who has a confirmed or presumed case of Covid-19 within the last 14 days?
  • Have you travelled from anywhere outside of Canada within the last 14 days?

Here is what you can expect for your appointment:

  • For all confirmed appointments, a Covid-19 Screening Questionnaire will be emailed to you. This must be filled out on the day of your appointment and brought into the office.
  • To maintain physical distancing, please call when you arrive in the parking area or are close to the office. We will let you know when you can come in.If you are at your office, let us know how long it will take for you to get to our office and we are happy to call you to minimize waiting time in our patient lounge.
  • Ideally, please come alone to minimize patients in the office.
  • Please brush your teeth prior to your appointment.
  • Please wear a mask. If you don’t have one, we will provide you with one.
  • For all confirmed appointments, a Covid-19 Screening Questionnaire will be emailed to you. This must be filled out on the day of your appointment and brought into the office.
  • At the door you will be greeted by one of our team members who will be wearing a mask. She will take your temperature.
  • Upon entering please use the hand sanitizer.
  • Please consider being seated apart from another patient in the patient lounge.
  • During this time we have disposable cups for water that will be separated out for your use. There will be a disinfectant wipe at the station for all the buttons to be wiped.
  • At this time we have removed all the magazines and toys for the kids, please bring any personal entertainment systems or reading that you will need.
  • One of our team members will ask you the series screening questions again.
  • We will ask that you update your medical history questionnaire, privacy assurance and payment information.
  • In efforts to minimize your time in the common reception area, for your health and safety and with your consent, we will safely, physically store your credit card information under lock and key. This way we will process your payment, submit to your insurance and email you the receipt and submission. Thus allowing you to not be required to have to stand and wait in the higher traffic area while we are processing any paperwork.
  • Future appointments will be scheduled in your private clinical operatory prior to leaving.
  • Upon leaving, all entry/exit door handles will be wiped.
  • Your clinical team in addition to the high level of PPE already in place will also be wearing face shields, surgical caps, lab coats and / or surgical gowns.
  • Prior to any dentistry being done, their will be a pre-procedural rinse that contains 2% hydrogen peroxide.

We strongly encourage patients to only come in if they have an appointment. For inquiries we are happy to assist you via a call or email.

We understand the information above is extensive, but it is required to ensure the safety of everyone in the office. We thank you so much for all your efforts. During this unique time we must work together and continue to flatten the curve.
